The following is a true story. This one is unlike my past memoirs. It doesn’t have the light-hearted tone like my others, but life is a kaleidoscope of experiences and perspectives.
Many years ago, in another century, when I was a teen, I learned about my mortality.
Imagine you lost memories of part of your life. You remember being a child and growing to an adult age, and you remember the last three years of your life, but you have no memories from twenty years in between.
That’s sort of how I feel. No, I wasn’t in a coma, didn’t have a stroke, and do not have amnesia.

I’m excited to learn what you all think of Ava and Meg’s simple yet complicated family 
lives. Simple, because these are real people living out every day lives, going to work, raising children, paying bills. Complicated, because their family relationships are all screwed up. Ava seems to be forever trying to fix things, while everyone else continues to live in their comfortable misery.

I just finished making pumpkin cookies for Thanksgiving treats.
I finally did it. I published my novel, Whit’s End.

I haven’t done any substantial writing in <gasp> about 20 months, other than some poems, blogging, and editing my work. In May 2015 we moved across country and rented a townhouse until we could find a home to buy. So, we never really got settled.
After I published the post about my Kindle Scout experience, I received more clicks and the most feedback I’ve had on my blog since I posted about the loss of my father-in-law.
Because of the Scout post, many people contacted me through different venues, including my email. I had many discussions that were quite interesting and eye opening. I came to a new understanding about Kindle Scout, which I have written below.

There is a curse upon our feet!
You’d think the stories I told about injured feet before were enough, but no, fate has brought me more.
About every four to six posts, WordPress does not deposit my new post in their Reader for followers to see. From what I could tell, my September 12th post did not go into the Reader, at least not on that day. Since I posted an important accomplishment, and few people visited, I’m re-posting. I apologize to those of you who came over to read this already. Thank you in advance for your support.

I finally did it!
My dog, Max, had been outside fetching a ball, when he returned to me all bloody. How in the world was I going to help him when I was on crutches from a previous sprained ankle?
It happened two weeks after our cross country move. I sauntered down the stairs in our new place and stopped on the last step to give my hubby, Gary, a hug. Shortly after, we parted to go in different directions.
I turned to go right and . . . SCREAM!
