Happy Friday!
Time to flee the office and race vibrantly into the three-day weekend (Labor Day in the States).
I’ve noticed lots of people dropping off from blogging lately. Not posting or visiting. During the month of August, my blog has dropped in traffic immensely. Maybe people are out there and active enjoying their last summer month. Maybe they’ve stopped blogging altogether.
I always hesitate to mention that I’m writing again, because I’m afraid I might lose my muse.
How is your 2018 going so far? I hope it’s superb and gets even better. I like that word “superb.” Don’t recall ever using it before.

I think there’s something wrong with me, because I’m lazy.
Have you ever met anyone online that became a good friend? If you’re a blogger, I’m guessing you probably have.
On Wednesday I posted about making new friends, but I also have friends from this blogging world that have been around for almost my entire five years. I will not call them “old” friends, because getting to know them through their regular blogs is always like new.
We see such division in the world these days, but when I’m online with my blogging friends and fellow authors, I feel unity. I’ve received much kindness and help from many in these communities and want to give back in at least some small way.
I was nominated for the Blogger Recognition award by the talented romance author, Angela Christina Archer. Through blogging and reading her fine work, we have become good friends. If you like historical romance, you’ll love her books.
I haven’t joined in on the blogging awards in a while, and I likely won’t do this often. But, I wanted to thank Angela for her online friendship and for this award.
Here is what to do to accept the award:
I’m an author who hasn’t written in twenty months. I had good intentions about a year ago, but it only lasted a week.
Oh, I’ve edited my work. I’ve written on my blog and in other social media. I’ve done lots of promo work. But, I haven’t done creative writing for short stories or novels.
Why?
About every four to six posts, WordPress does not deposit my new post in their Reader for followers to see. From what I could tell, my September 12th post did not go into the Reader, at least not on that day. Since I posted an important accomplishment, and few people visited, I’m re-posting. I apologize to those of you who came over to read this already. Thank you in advance for your support.
P.S. Would love some reviews on Amazon or Goodreads or both.
I finally did it!
I’m pleased to say that I’ve been writing and editing again. So, this isn’t going to be one of my longer, philosophical posts. Well, maybe . . . because I seem to get easily distracted. I don’t have A.D.D. in regular life, so what the heck happens when I’m writing?
Am I the only author that does this?
Can you imagine scrolling and scrolling through the Reader of WordPress and just clicking ‘like’ on everything without reading it?

A friend of mine suggested a good Halloween costume for me this year would have been Little Miss Muffet.

Why Little Miss Muffet?
Those of you who regularly visit my blog may have noticed a shuffle of different themes. I’ve been yearning for change and have been experimenting. Who knows, I may even go back to the original.
I just crossed my three year blog anniversary over Christmas. When I first started, I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it and became addicted! Over time, many of my wonderful blogging friends took breaks from the blog world (some left altogether). Even though I missed them, I blogged all the more. I rarely can pull myself away from typing out blog drafts and visiting other blogs. I mean, what if I miss something awesome?
Recently, my writer’s group had a meeting to discuss publishing and marketing. We had one of our cherished members who is an experienced indie author share tips with us. She opened the meeting with what she said was the most important advice to pass along …
The year 2013 was good to me, but just as I suspected, my WordPress stats were not. They took a dive when WordPress had a problem with notifications for two months.
