The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance, the wise grows it under his feet. ~ James Openheim
A truly happen person is one who can enjoy the scenery while on detour. ~ Author Unknown
Happy people roll with the punches. They know from experience that everything changes. Today’s good fortune may vanish tomorrow, today’s crises may turn out to be tomorrow’s good fortune. ~ Author Unknown
Happiness is not a state to arrive at but a manner of traveling. ~ Author Unknown
I like them all, but I think the last one speaks to me most clearly.
I often need such reminders to make me focus on choosing happiness over dwelling on hurts. I don’t know if you’re a FaceBooker, but if so, you might be interested in following The Optimism Revolution. Good daily inspiration!

I like that because I’m on constant detour or at least it feels like it *smile

Great quotes… I love quotes 🙂 And my favourite from this selection is “Happy people roll with the punches…” Happiness is a choice. You can be many other things but none of them preclude being happy at the same time. It takes a little practice, and a little getting used to, but it is possible.

I like this one: A truly happen person is one who can enjoy the scenery while on detour. ~ Author Unknown. I’m learning to not be so focused on a certain desire but to enjoy whatever path -or detour- I’m on at the moment.

I used to think about happiness in a different manner…something that you achieved after….after you achieved something….after you did what you said you needed….after (insert long to do list). My thought process now, is we just might be the “master of our own destiny”….Just like Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” said, “If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with.”

Love the Wizard of Oz for that very reason. It fits that last quote on my blog post too. Thanks for sharing your experience.
