Can you Keep a Secret?

It happened when I was all by myself.

Well, I wasn’t completely alone. My dog, Max was with me. He’s the only one who knows the truth about his crazy fifty-something-year-old biped mom.

I’m Not as Nice as I Thought

I’ve been writing over the past few posts about how I’m not as nice as I believed. I learned this on our vacation in South Dakota. I have further proof.

Live for the Journey

Every year on this date, it’s a must for me to remember this lovable furry guy in the photo. Piezon changed my life and was my everything for eleven and a half years. He had such a palpable spirit and filled up the missing spaces in my life back then (he came to me in place of the children I couldn’t have). He brought along with him a lot of positive spiritual energy that manifested in so many forms. When he died, all that spirit energy seemed to go with him.

The Social Media Dare

girlthinkingX2(800x533)I’m really struggling with writing posts these days and contemplating what to do about it.

You see, I’m having difficulty not bringing up what’s happening in society. I feel as if it’s crumbling around us. I’m not supposed to have an opinion about it either, otherwise I could be ousted from society.

Why I’m a Freak, Reason #6

Last week when I posted reason #5 as to why I am a freak, I promised to post reason #6 next. So, here it is … I want to be swarmed. Let me see, how can I explain this? Well, maybe the video below can show you what I mean.

One Gimp, Two Gimp 1

Gotta watch that last step, Mom.

It happened two weeks after our cross country move. I sauntered down the stairs in our new place and stopped on the last step to give my hubby, Gary, a hug. Shortly after, we parted to go in different directions.

I turned to go right and . . . SCREAM!

Coming Home

Home AveIt wasn’t enough that my husband’s feet were shattered, or that my dog had surgery and broke open his wound. Yes, we needed another obstacle to overcome. I was alerted to a flat tire when I stopped for dinner at Chick-fil-A. Since the tire hadn’t completely deflated, and my house was only a mile down the road, I got myself some dinner and drove the car home. I would just have to use my husband’s car to get around for a while (which was another mess, because his car was still at work).

Three days later, after three weeks in hospitals, my husband was finally coming home. A hospital bed smack dab in the middle of our living room awaited his arrival.

Stretched Thin

I stood frozen in my husband’s hospital room. He just had surgery on his shattered feet. My dog, Max had surgery only two weeks before to have a lump removed. It was benign and healed over … or so we thought. My pet sitter called to tell me Max’s wound had split open.

“Is it bleeding?” I asked.

A Tale about Feet

On April 15, 2014, my dog, Max, had a quarter-sized lump removed from his side. We had to wait for test results to come back and have his stitches removed in ten days (this is relevant for later).

On April 17, 2014, my husband called me from work just to say hi and let me know he was thinking of me.

Ten minutes after we hung up, around 2:30pm, my phone rang and I saw his number on caller ID again. Hmm. I wonder what he could’ve forgotten to tell me.

“Hello?”

A woman’s voice I didn’t recognize said, “Hi. Is this Lori, Gary’s wife?”

“Yes.” My voice shook.

“Gary just had an accident at work. We called an ambulance for him.”

“Wha… Wha… What?” Fear shot through my veins and straight into my brain, causing logical thoughts to scamper and hide.

Spreading Smiles

happy max wm 2

This photo makes me smile and hopefully it will make you smile too. He (Max) looks so happy.

Last Monday I shared in a blog post about something that makes me smile. I then challenged any other bloggers to share something that made them smile, hoping we can spread the happiness.
