A couple of weeks ago, a fellow blogger shared her visit to Lilacia Park. I was excited to be reminded of it before the lilac season ended, and I made sure to go a couple of days later. Continue reading “Comparisons and a Mission Statement”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic
The Weekly Photo Challenge called my name again. Since I don’t blog every day, and I already had blogs scheduled, I’m posting it two days before the next challenge.
I have three photos hanging over my fireplace mantel. When I first put them there, I loved the contrast between the two old photos and the new photo. I loved that you could see the difference in generations, in eras, and yet still see the similarity.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Companionable
This is the first time I’m attempting the weekly photo challenge.
Baby don’tcha wanna go …
. . . back to that same old place. Sweet Home Chicago.
It’s been perfect weather since I arrived in my suburban Chicago home. I took the Chicago River (boat) tour and the following are a few of the photos that resulted. Of the twelve days I’ve been visiting thus far, the day I scheduled for this tour is the only one that turned out gray and misty. The lighting wasn’t the best for photos, but all in all, a very enjoyable day.

The Old Stompin’ Grounds
Perhaps you read about my road trip 1 from Florida back to my home town in the Chicago area. Well, I’m here and thought I’d show you the suburb where I grew up.
Even though there are suburbs on top of suburbs which makes it quite an urban area, my little suburb is called a village. Mom and I took a ride into the middle of the village, and I thought I’d share the photos I took. Continue reading “The Old Stompin’ Grounds”
I Spy with my Little Eye Pt 2
Hey and Howdy!
Here are the photos of day two of our road trip from Florida to Chicago. To see the photos of day one, check here. Again, please excuse the quality and bug juice on the windows as I took these on the fly. 😉
On the road again in northern Tennessee. (for use of photo, please attribute to Lori and this website) Continue reading “I Spy with my Little Eye Pt 2”
I Spy with my Little Eye
Woo hoo, and yeehaw! I’m finally leaving the heat and humidity. We made it from central Florida to just south of Nashville and the temperature is already much more comfortable.
If I have time and an internet connection, I will post photos of what I spy with my little eye each day. I apologize, but I probably won’t get to read your blogs during this trip. I do enjoy keeping up with you guys though, so if I get the time I will stop by.
In the mean time, here are mostly photos I shot from behind the windshield of the car as we were moving. I don’t have time to fix them at all in a photo program so they’re going up as is. Please excuse the quality, and pardon the bug juice on the windows. I took them on the fly. Hee, hee. Continue reading “I Spy with my Little Eye”
Excerpts from my Diary Final
Instead of words from my diary this time, I’ll share a recap through photos.
We arrived at our cabin. See the large windows for viewing. Continue reading “Excerpts from my Diary Final”
Excerpts from my Diary Part 3
North Georgia mountains Day 3 – (See Day 1 here, Day 2 here)Â Slowwww, morning. Get up and kick around the cabin. Eat cereal, drink tea. Do nothing. Read blogs. Do nothing. Shower. Brush the dog.
We leave the cabin at 12:30 to go into town. We buy lunch at the only fast food restaurant in the area and take it over to a park with picnic tables, alongside a river. Continue reading “Excerpts from my Diary Part 3”
Excerpts from my Diary Part 2
Day 2 (read part 1 of my travel diary here) – Wow, my hair isn’t drooping and my eyelashes are staying curled. I guess there is no humidity up here in the north Georgia mountains this time of year. We had April humidity in Florida something fierce already. I’m not looking forward to this summer. So, for now I enjoy this mountain air.
We leave the cabin to check out the area. Max, the dog, is raring to go, even though he didn’t sleep well last night. Continue reading “Excerpts from my Diary Part 2”
