I’m about to make a confession. I hope my blogging community will understand and stick together with me. I’ve grown so fond of your presence over the years.
Okay, ready? Deep breath.
I am a political junky. I follow everything to do with the topic and stay deeply involved. However, I don’t use this blog for discussing politics, because this is my break from that chaotic mess. I don’t follow any blogs that discuss the subject either. Except lately, I’ve found that it is creeping ever so slightly into some blogs. I know political discourse is everywhere present. It seems to be taking up the whole of the oxygen of the earth, and it’s hard to avoid discussing it altogether.
So, I’m going to say one more thing before I leave you with a blog post I wrote on September 14, 2012. When you read it, you will see that this mess did not begin recently with one particular man, because six years ago (and even before), I was writing about the same concerns I have now. The post isn’t directly about politics, but rather, a prayer for unity. If we humans continue to allow ourselves to be divided, we are headed for much more treacherous times.
We do need to look after ourselves but human nature being what it is …
I hope you are feeling a little lighter. Try to be good to yourself. ❤

Thanks, Lynette. We got snow yesterday, but it’s melting today. It was so pretty when it was floating down.
Stay warm up there in the frozen tundra.

Sometimes weeping is all you can do Lori. These are both heart-felt posts that show how much you care.

Thank you for being honest, Lori. I read your post from six years ago. When will we learn? 😥
I totally agree with Jill. I’m reminded of the good when I see how people responded to your post with love and concern.

Hi L. Thanks for reading both my posts. After reading a few things that stated this division is recent, I felt the need to show that it’s been happening for some time now. You’re right, when will we learn?
Stay safe this weekend from the snow. We have to go to my dad’s in Wisconsin on Sunday and I’m hoping the snow on Saturday won’t be much.
Have a good one. 🙂

Thanks, Laura. I’m doing okay. Just a little reminder for some that this has been going on for some time now. Though I am concerned (as are most people), I’m still getting on with life.
Hope you’re staying warm there in SC. It snowed here today.

When we stop believing there is still good in the world, we’ll never be the same again. I tend to have more faith in mankind when I tune out the media and focus on those close to me. I’ll be hanging around, Lori! ❤

Thanks for the good thoughts here, Jill. In reading some posts from people who seem to think this division just started a couple of years ago, I felt the need to put a reminder (from 6 years ago) on the world wide web in case anyone comes across this post. 😉

Thanks, David. BTW, did you see my post about “My Guys?” I thought you might like it since it’s about dogs.

I think you made a very good point in that post six years ago. We always look for someone else to blame when things go wrong. Maybe we should look to ourselves first and try to be the best we can be. If everyone did that, the world would be a better place (not only in the US, but in every country).

I couldn’t agree with you any more, Anneli. I’m all about self-reflection, but I’m learning that so many people are not. Thanks for understanding. 🙂
