Grandma’s Thursday

I hadn’t planned a post for today, but this Thursday each year gets me thinking about someone I love. I thought I’d reblog my post about her from 2012. Happy Easter. Blessings to all.

I hadn’t planned on posting this Thursday, but then decided I wanted to share something special to me.

Some people might remember their loved ones who’ve past away on their birthday, or on the day they died. I tend to remember my Grandma on this Thursday every year. It’s not her birthday which is September 13th, nor is it the day she died, December 4th.  It’s also not this date, April 5th, that has any significance. It is today … a Holy day … the Thursday before Easter, that always brings back sweet memories of my Grandma.

  1. What beautiful thoughts and memories of your grandmother. It lovely that you have some of her gifts and things as tangible reminders but the things in your heart and the things you do are most important.

  2. It’s lovely that you had such a wonderful relationship with your grandmother and that you have a special day for your remembrances of your time with her. I never had such a relationship with either of my grandmothers, and I’ve always been a bit envious of those of you who did.

    1. I can understand why you’d feel that way, JM. I get envious of siblings who are close. Thank you for your kind comment.

    1. Hi Andrea. Yes, it’s a unique day to remember her. Different than the usual. Thanks for taking the time to read about her and for the nice comment.

  3. It is always nice to have good and fond memories of a loved one, especially a grandmother. I remember my grandmother for mostly her excellent cooking. If could hear, I wonder if she would be disappointed that my best memory of her is food but I do miss her a lot.

    1. Ahh yes, well, since I’m Italian, cooking is a great memory for you to have. I’m sure your grandma would be happy to know that you enjoyed her meals. Thanks for reading about my grandma, Miss Z.

  4. It’s always wonderful to have special memories of our grandparents, and it’s usually in the form of one-on-one time we had with them, as in the case with your grandma. Lovely post.
