Synchronicity and Full Circle

Even though my husband, Gary, was back on his feet after his injury, we learned that his heels were still shattered. The doctor said light to moderate walking was necessary to prevent calcium build-up. Ouch! Stepping on shattered heels sounds like torture to me, but Gary said it wasn’t so bad, at least compared to his earlier pain.

Normally, Gary’s job requires ten-hour days or more on his feet. The doctor eased him back into work with only two half-days each week. With every re-check of his healing progression, the doctor added a couple more hours, until right around Thanksgiving 2014, he was released to work full time.

Unfortunately, with such a serious injury, Gary was unable to escape lasting effects. About 6 weeks ago (or so), he lugged himself out of bed to go to work and could barely stand up. It wasn’t his feet this time, but his back. He went to work anyway, in severe pain with his body lopsided.

Concerned that this could be related to his accident, we got in to see the doctor (which was another bit of drama, because they refused to give him an appointment for his back. We finally got it straightened out).

X-rays were taken, and his spine looked okay. He also had an MRI, and as of this post, we’re waiting for those results.

The good news is, Gary’s heels have fused back together. The bad news is, his walking gate is forever changed and is likely effecting his back.

Long hours being upright not only aggravates his back, but his feet ache to the core by the end of each ten-hour day. A few hours on his feet is okay, but not ten, or even eight. This was not a problem for him before the accident. So, we both agreed, it was time he find a job with less hours using those sore old dogs.

We kept this decision under wraps, not wanting anyone to know until a viable job opportunity arrived. But, before we even had a chance to update his resume, Gary received a phone call from a long-time colleague. This colleague asked if Gary would be interested in a job where he would be evaluating shop performances from a computer. The timing was perfect!

Gary applied for the job and was hired. But, that’s not all…

For those of you who have read my blog for some time now, you know I’ve wanted to move out of Florida. This new job will take us out of state. Guess where we’re moving? Back to Chicago where I grew up.

Not only does this opportunity work for Gary’s health, but it also brings me back home. The universe synced it perfectly and brought me full circle. The phone call for the job opportunity would’ve come, regardless of the accident. But, it happened exactly when it was needed.

Never doubt that there is a Force working to give you what you need. It might take a couple dozen years, but it will happen.
