As icy winds descend upon the north
the sweet breath of relief
breaks the high fever of the south
that has been boiling since March
a cobalt blue sky
beautiful bountiful breezes
reinvigorate the soul
moods lift
the trees
the grass
the plants
flow freer
lighter
pets prance
a spring in their step
free from the strangling grip of the fever
bodies are revived
replenished
rejuvenated
The voice wants to sing in exaltation
Hooray, hooray
liberation

I’m glad you were able to enjoy some beautiful weather for last weekend! A bit too chilly up here then, but not as bad as it could be. 🙂

Oh, I was so grateful for that weather over the weekend. Looks like we’ll have more of it this weekend if the weathermen are right. BTW, I posted about the Gong Show Pitch Fest today if you want to read it when you get a chance. Thanks for stopping by, JM.

Your poem reminds me of the joy with with birds, magpies particularly, sing in the day, with pure delight and celebration 🙂

Sorry, I missed stating I enjoyed reading about your joy. So often we do not appreciate the weather we have.

No problem, Miss L. I know I certainly don’t appreciate the hot months here. I don’t care for really cold weather either, so stay warm and bundle up. It’s still warm enough here to send warm hugs.

Really cooling down here, I. E. Freezing tonight. Isn’t this fall?

Could you send some of this up my way, Lori? It’s cold and rainy here today. Beautiful poem!

Sorry, Jill. When it’s cold for you, it’s nice for me, and when it’s unbearably hot for me, it’s nice for you. This poem has the first words that came out of me after waiting 7 months for this weather. Hallelujah! 🙂 Thanks for the nice comment.

Thank you, Carrie. I usually don’t post on Saturday, but as the poem says, the voice wanted to sing in exaltation. Hope you’re having a nice weekend.
