I’d never heard that Lincoln quote– it’s perfect. I wish I made such amazing metaphors that people would quote me hundreds of years later. I have my fingers crossed that most of what I’ve said so far will be forgotten.

That is such a great quote. The shadow can be dark and gloomy, and can only change depending on the shape of the tree, whereas the tree is alive and dynamic, always changing and growing.
