Views from a Morning Walk

I took a camera with me on my morning walk with the dog. (The date of this post was when I lived in Florida, so the scenes are from my neighborhood where I lived there.)

The sun is coming up on a quaint little front yard setting.

Below is something we commonly see on trees here.

Spanish moss. It’s foreboding at dusk and in the dark.

Bottle Brush Tree. See if you can make out the bottle brush shaped blooms.
rot orng 2 wm
Rotten oranges from Florida orange tree.

Think he’ll turn into a prince if I kiss him?

Hello little feral kitty. You reflect the same coloring as my doggy, Max. Don’t be afraid of him. I won’t let him get you.

I like this little crystal ball thing. It looks like it has a candle flicker inside. Think it can tell my future?

Thank you for coming along with us on our walk this morning. Come along on catch the views from and evening walk next.

  1. I love to see the neighborhoods of my blogger friends, so thanks for sharing yours. You live in a pretty area! And that cat is adorable! Love his little black nose against the patch of white fur.

  2. I love posts like this which look at the mundane world in a new way. It’s amazing how easy it is to pass through our daily surroundings without batting an eye. This post reminds me a bit of my early morning stroll through the Tuileries Gardens last September (I love early morning walks; http://theaberrantpen.wordpress.com/2012/09/22/the-gates-of-dawn/).

Now you’ve inspired me to try the same thing in my own neighborhood 🙂

    1. Yep, I’m trying to learn to be in the moment. Having my camera with me helps to do that. Always good to see you, Ed. My evening walk will be posted on Monday.

  3. My walks are usually in the evening, but they’re good to take at any time (except when it’s raining or snowing or really cold or really hot…. 😉 ) Thanks for taking us on a virtual tour with you!

    1. It will be unbearably hot here soon, but we will still be walking our Max. Thanks for coming along on the virtual tour with us, JM.

  4. Didn’t get out for a walk this morning but sure enjoyed yours. I remember wondering what Spanish Moss was before computers. Always thought it was so exotic.

    1. Sure you went for a walk this morning … you came along with Max and me. 🙂 Spanish moss is spooky looking to me, or as I’ve heard it said … it’s gothic. Thanks for joining our walk.

    1. There’s a lot of heat surrounding us here already. It’ll be here for quite some time to come. Hope it warmed you up. Thanks for joining me, Anneli.

  7. I don’t really have a bucket list, but one thing I’ve always wanted is to live in a climate that allows one to have a citrus tree in the back yard. Maybe some day…

    Love the kitty!

    1. Funny, I plan to move out of this climate one day. Wish it was sooner rather than later. Too hot (and humid) for too long here (6 to 8 months of the year). I always wanted a view of a mountain range from one of my windows. Like you said, maybe some day. Thanks for coming along, Carrie.

        1. Giggle. I’m always glad I live here from January through March. I’d love to have a condo rental on the beach at that time of year, then leave! 🙂

    1. Hey Linda, good to see you. We have such a myriad of different nature-life here. I wish I could get shots of all the different types of birds here, but they’re too quick for me. Thanks for joining me.

  8. Beautiful morning walk, not too sure you’d want to kiss the frog though. Just give him the wand and let him do his own magic swish lol 🙂

    1. Thanks for coming along on the walk, Andy. I think I better stay away from the magic wand for the frog/prince thing. I already have my prince … flaws and all. 😉
