Leftover Holiday-Ham Stew

This is not my recipe (but it is my photo). It’s one I found on the internet a couple of years ago. Back then, just like this year, I had tons of ham leftover from Christmas. I was searching the web to find something I could do with it. I found this recipe that calls for ham steak, but I just cut up chunks of my leftover ham.

Instead of typing out the recipe, I’ll share the link for you here. This has plenty of vegees, and without the ham, vegetarians might like it too. Except, you may need to add some more seasonings, as the ham gives it a lot of flavor. The only thing I suggest doing different from the recipe is add more water. It calls for 1 cup, but I suggest two or more. You can also click on the link above the photo.

  1. We bought a huge ham on sale after Christmas and have already made one round of soup with the leftovers. This could be a good one for the next round!

  2. Oh my gosh, does this look good! I am suppose to make split pea soup (minus the ham) tonight but don’t know if that will happen. If not today–tomorrow. I would lap up this soup in a second. Looks good, Lori!

    1. I like split pea soup too. My mom’s is my favorite. I had enough ham leftover for a huge pot of split pea and this ham stew. Thanks for stopping by, Kathy.

    1. You could always buy ham. We got a huge ham as a gift and have no one else to eat it with. So, lots of hearty ham stew for us. Thanks for stopping by, Linda.
