The simple things in life entertain me. You have no idea how happy I am to experience autumn. After living in Florida for more than twenty years. I miss it so. (For those who missed my other blogs about my visit back home to the Chicago suburbs, click here, here and here.)
Most of you likely get to experience this every year, so these photos may be nothing new to you. But, oh how they tickle my soul and save the wonderful memory for me.
Where I grew up, the planes from O’Hare Airport flew low above our homes. Lots of pretty nature here, but also lots of noise. We had the commuter train right nearby too. The below photo shows the pretty fall colors and a low plane heading out of O’Hare.
There’s a certain nostalgia and romance in a place you left. ~ David Guterson
P.S. The trip is over now and we’re heading home. I actually got to experience two of the four seasons while there. The last couple of days of my visit, I felt a touch of winter nip at my skin. I’m grateful the universe gave me this opportunity to experience it and share my old stompin’ grounds with the blogasphere.
Thanks for visiting me and sharing your thoughts. I love your photos and your blog and will be following you.

Beautiful pictures! I’m so glad you got to experience fall this year. I’ve lived here all my life and I never get tired of the beauty of this time of year.

Pretty I love this time of year. The few years I lived in LA although some leaves did change, not having that transition into winter (well their version of winter) was pretty odd. I’m glad I live where I’ve got so much awesome color. Great pics!

Hey Pete! I usually try to set my visits back home in the fall, unless some other event gets me there at another time of year. Yes, it’s strange not to have the transition into winter. It was even more odd when I first moved here to walk out of the mall after Christmas shopping and not get slapped in the face with an icy wind. That part was pretty cool, actually. 😉 Thanks so much for checking out the photos.

Lovely photos…
The last time I flew out of O’Hare, I said “never again”….
I glad you got to experience at least two seasons….actually three since you live in summer all year long 🙂

Egads! I’m wiped out from the drive home and the eternal laundry piles to get through since back. Anyway, thanks for checking out my photos, Linda. And yes, O’Hare is a mess, and noisy where I grew up.

I live in San Francisco where it’s green all year round, but I still love the fall. I’ve always loved the fall, and I’ve made it a point to visit my mom in Montreal during this time of the year because it’s so beautiful. It inspires me to write. As a matter of fact, I’ve mentioned fall in Montreal quite a bit in my upcoming novel. 🙂
I love the photos you’ve posted. I wish the leaves would change in San Francisco…at least just this once. But I have a feeling it won’t. Guess I’ll just have to visit my mom in Montreal.
