Isaac and Frank

Well, I originally planned to share photos of blowing palm trees from Isaac today, but he decided to pass by in the distance and just wave ‘hello.’ It’s a typical tropical rainy day here. Fine by me, but safe prayers and wishes go out to New Orleans and the other gulf states.

Nothing more than these type of skies, and a bit of blowing rain for three days.

Now onto the news about the other fella I mentioned … Frank.

I haven’t been able to get out much over the past few months because of health issues. Finally doing better, so I made a date with Frank this past Saturday. Yes, my husband let me go on a date with Frank Caliendo. Ahem, well, we made a date to have our picture taken together.

Okay, so for those of you who don’t know him, he’s a Comedian who does hilarious impressions. We went to his comedy show at the Improv on Saturday night and had such a great time.

I asked not to be seated at a high-top table. I’m too short and my feet dangle, subsequently giving me a backache. So, where do they seat me? At a nice low table in the front row … my legs literally used the stage as an ottoman.

I only had two beers, but I didn’t use the bathroom for three hours while drinking them. So, near the end of the show, I had to go to the bathroom … really bad. I tried to find a way to sneak out without Frank seeing, but sure enough, he caught me and announced it to the sold-out room.

Of course, he joked with me for a while about it. I turned red, but surprised myself when I laughed and bantered back with him.

Afterward, he set up a table where he signed autographs and took pictures with people. Here is how he autographed my copy of his DVD comedy show. Can you read his reference to my bathroom issue? (if not click on photo to read his sig).

Yes, I held back my bathroom visit until he finished his set. Try doing that and laughing hysterically at the same time!

Remember when I said that I don’t like sitting at high-top tables because I’m short? Well, Frank has two opening-act comedians he travels with who were also very funny, and very tall. I asked them if I could take a photo between the two of them because I thought the height difference was hilarious.

So, despite Isaac’s threats, I got out for the first time in a long time and had a blast. Frank Caliendo and his fellow comedians were some of the nicest men I have met in a long time. Especially for being in the entertainment field. Thanks guys, for a great night out.

Thank you to my blogging buddies for sharing this night out with me on my blog. Laughter is so important in life.

      1. I went with my daughter and the whole time I was wishing my husband was there.

Are you Lori R. too? If so, I got your letter/card today! Yeah! Thank you. It is off in the mail to Ft. Jackson tomorrow!
