Well, seems I hit a snag lately. On Thursday night after my writer’s meeting a demon stomach bug hit me. Haven’t been up for writing anything, including on the blog … until now.
In the mean time, half of our home’s floor has been ripped up for the past week in preparation for laying a new one. Going from tile to wood (Pergo). My husband has been laying the wood since Friday night. Today he is doing the finishing touches with the transitions and quarter-rounds. It’s shaping up to look fantastic, but there will be lots of cleaning to do afterward. Hopefully I’ll be feeling stronger by that time.
In the midst of these things, I’ve been looking forward to something to share with you. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it up on my blog by tomorrow.
The heat in Florida is overwhelming already. Actually has been since March. It’s going to be difficult for me to get through the heat for the next six months. I’m not really a friend of heat. I prefer cool temps … and yes … I know … this a ridiculous place to live if I want cool temps (see my post on March 5th). This is where the job is right now and it’s a good one. There’s no way in this economy we can take a chance and look elsewhere. We are blessed with a great life other than the heat (and some health issues).
So, keep an eye out for my announcement, hopefully by tomorrow. I appreciate the support.
May everyone be having a wonderful holiday weekend here in the U.S., and all of those overseas who read this as well. Blessing to all.
Heat is not my friend either. I would not want to ever live in Florida. Sometimes, you are not given a choice (job related).
Bet the floor looks great! Hope you are better.

It turned from the stomach bug into a nasty cold. I reached the peek now and I’m coming back down the other side. I should be better soon. Thank you for the prayers. They are much appreciated.

Hello, friend! I’ve often wondered what it would be like to live in Florida in the summertime. It’s great to vacation there in the middle of a freezing winter, but would you feel so overwhelmed and sweaty all the time? Guess you’d have to run from air conditioner to air conditioner. Sorry about your bug. Not fun. But happy you’ll be getting a new floor. Lucky you!

Hey Kathy! Yes, I do run from a/c to a/c just like I used to run from the heat to heat when I grew up in Chicago. I get cabin fever in the summer here.
Oh yeah, I’m happy about the new floor. I can’t stand a mess, but in the end, it will be worth it. Thanks so much for your supportive comment.

Hope you feel better, I had a similar bug last week. And it’s hot and humid here in Ga. as well, ugh!

Oh, sorry you had this nasty bug too. Ack! I’m finding that I have a slight head cold now afterward. Strange. Thanks for the well wishes. Hope you’re on the mend too.

I am in Miami (Aventura NE corner of Miami Dade). Yes, the heat. From now to end of September it is going to be murder. I am 4 miles or less from the beach so we do get a little breeze relief at night.

I don’t live on the west side, but not near the coast. Don’t get the evening breezes here. Our county is dry, dry, dry too. We need rain, bad. It’s gonna be a long summer for us. Thanks for sharing your experience, Carl.
