Excerpts from my Diary Final

Instead of words from my diary this time, I’ll share a recap through photos.

We arrived at our cabin. See the large windows for viewing.

This one is what it looked like through those windows from our bedroom each morning.

Next we hiked to Anna Ruby Falls. A little peek at me.

Another day, a picnic lunch alongside a river.

One day I stayed in the cabin with Max and wrote while Gary went golfing.

Finally, we’ve been to Hel-en-back. Sorry, my husband’s silly little pun. 😉 Here are several views of the restful German village snuggled in between the mountains.

And we say goodbye with the sunset over the mountains.

Here are the first three parts with photos to this trip. Part 1. Part 2. Part 3.

  1. Beautiful and serene landscape 🙂 Could you tell me in which part of Germany this village is located?Btw, have you visited the Neuschwanstein Castle-Bavarian Palace Dept, Schwangau,Germany… it is very close to Munich in the Bavarian Alps and has a wonderful hiking trail as well, takes around 2 hrs drive to reach the venue from Munich. There is also a little village amidst the Bavarian Alps called Oberammergau, that falls on the way to the castle in the mountains. The beautiful German village and the landscape reminded me of these locations. You could check them out on the net sometime.. Have a wonderful day! 🙂

    1. Hi Payal. Heh, I guess I really did make a southern American country-town look exotic in these photos. The closest I’ve ever been to Germany was when I was in Austria about 30 years ago. 😉 My photos are of the north Georgia mountains and a little German village nestled among them. Check out this blog where I write a little near the bottom about the location. Thanks for the comments. 🙂

    1. Thank you for checking it out, Rachel. It’s funny, a lot of the photos didn’t turn out exactly the way I pictured them when clicking, but they still came out nice. Thanks for your nice comments about them.

    1. Hey Carl, The skeeters tended to stay away until dusk, then they made their appearance. During the day I saw (and heard) the most gigantic yellow-jackets I’ve ever seen. They buzzed so loud it was like a symphony! We had a wonderful screened in deck with jacuzzi that kept all those critters away. Thanks for checking it out and commenting.

  2. It’s good to see a photo of you, Lori. You look relaxed in front of the falls. My in-laws live near Athens, Georgia. Wondering how far your get-a-way is from there. Thank you for sharing from your word & photo diaries.

    1. Thanks for joining in and viewing them, Kathy. I knew Athens wasn’t too far from where we were, so I checked. It’s only 65 miles. A nice weekend getaway for them if they so choose. Always good to hear from you.

  3. Wonderful … and I’m so glad that the weather was on your side – and be able to see so much of the beautiful surroundings. Thanks for taking me there and sharing your days with me.
