Did you think “hot” meant “beautiful.” Um, nope. I’m literally HOT!
I guess what I mean is, don’t hate me because I get to live in a HOT climate in the winter. I know a lot of people pine for a tropical setting this time of year. In all honesty, I AM grateful not to experience freezing temps, but I’m NOT glad about the HEAT! I guess you can call me “Goldylocks,” and not because I have golden locks.
Soooo … on Saturday I broke myself away from this addicting blog universe, and went to the yearly Art Fest downtown with my husband. We decided to take our dog, Max, with us. The dog sneaked treats from strangers who couldn’t resist his floppy ears and freckled face. It was as crowded as Woodstock and hotter too. The dog was panting like a panic attack and we didn’t stay very long. Within 90 minutes I needed to take my second shower of the day. It’s not like I ran a marathon for crying out loud. (I so miss cuddling under a blanket, holding onto a steaming cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows.)
I must be getting too old for this stuff, although we did see some pretty sights (photos below). Though I complain about the heat, I am grateful to have had the opportunity and choice to visit a festival at all. Not everyone is so fortunate, including those states hit with bad storms this week.
I thought I’d bring the day to you with some photos, and you won’t have to wipe the sweat from your brow while enjoying them. 🙂 For some reason a few showed up blurry after I uploaded them. They aren’t blurry when you click on them to open up in its own window though.
Can you tell what city it’s in?

Yeah I was pretty sure it was somewhere in Florida, based on the Suntrust building. My girlfriend’s mother lives there and we are thinking about becoming migratory animals, like the geese. Love the spring-fall here in the mountains of Western North Carolina, but I FEEL you. I don’t like the freeze!

Ooh, NC, I love it there in the mountains. It’s my goal to live either there or in TN some day. Yep, FL is used to those migratory animals. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and commenting Nick.

It’s nice to get out to those Arts activities – I especially love the pic you took of the artwork (those street scenes are amazing!) I would welcome heat right now and we are all hoping winter decides to leave us to our soon to be spring. We’ve had an relatively mild winter with the exception of -40C for a week in January and then the most snow in one dump 2 weeks ago… but that’s Alberta for you. Send me some HOT and I will melt the snow cuz I’m tired of boots 🙂

Alberta! That’s a little too cold, and a drastic change in temps from here. Somewhere in between would be nice. That’s me, Goldylocks. 🙂
I’ll fan the heat in your direction. Thanks for reading.

Hey Marjim, got the tag. Glad you liked the photos. The Italian ice man told me to take the photo; I didn’t even think of it myself. Got a busy week ahead with critiquing for my writer’s group meeting. Don’t know if I’ll be able to get to it, but thanks for thinking of me. 🙂

Wow, I’ll be down in Miami in about a month and I’m so looking forward to the warm, hot weather as opposed to this cool New York City weather 😀
Thanks for hyping me up just a little more!

Tampa, by the way. I’d know the jail building anywhere. The cylinder shape gives it away.

Yup, that building is pretty distinctive. Thanks for stopping by and reading. 🙂

Nice with some hot photos – most of us … still have the ice and snow.
Totally agree with .. been too old for the heat for years now – can’t handle it … 15 yeas ago I could lay in sun for hours no problem. Also I love the seasons – so living in a warm climate that goes got – isn’t anything for me and my body.
