Cool, cool rain …

I’m enjoying the sound of rain tapping on the aluminum porch roof. We get so little of it here, until summertime. What a welcome change. I think our dog, Max, is enjoying it too. He’s resting by my side, his ears perched in the direction of the sounds.

This probably won’t get posted until a day when the sunshine is out again, but I’ll be able to look back at this and smile about the cool, cool rain.

And now I transition to 3 days after the wonderful rain, and a surprise thing has happened (that’s sarcasm). It’s sunny in the sunshine state this morning. No more rain. Don’t know when it will return. Though, it’s a rare cool morning. I sit and type this with windows open and a crisp breeze brushes my bare arms. I wear a sleeveless shirt in preparation for the hot summer sun this afternoon. Dreaming of a day with more cool, cool, rain …

Rain showers my spirit and waters my soul

  1. When I lived in a triple wide in Zephyrhills, Florida with my mother, one of my happiest memories was sitting on the couch looking to the ceiling and listening to the torrential rain on my aluminum roof. Thank you for the chance to remember those moments. 🙂

  2. wowee i love the fact that you embrace the rain. however i can tell you that in the UK rain is plentiful, if we could swap a few days rain to live in the sunshine state that would be AMAZING. we have a lovely consistent grey weather condition going on at the moment. it never moves from 10C/50F and it is always dull outside. But we have to keep on top of the grey-ness and try to maintain happy 🙂 hope that you had a lovely sunny day x

    1. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want it to be grey every day. The rain is just a welcome change. I grew up in Chicago where we had much less sunshine then where I live now. You need to manufacture some sunshine, eh? Or come visit us here in FL. Thanks for reading and commenting. Sending sunny vibes your way …

  3. Thanks Pete. I thought it might sound boring, but I was so in the moment when it rained on Friday, I had to write it down. It felt good to just sit and listen to it and let all thoughts float away. Thank you for stopping by and reading.

  4. 🙂 I so enjoy it too, this made me smile (see the smiley?!)

We don’t really get much rain here in my part of Virginia. (more than many other dry areas of course). It doesn’t get over the Blue Ridge Mountains too much. Today is bright and sunny with a pretty reflection from our first snow yesterday!

    Pretty, I enjoyed this.
